As a Store Associate, you'll be the heart of our store, connecting with students, faculty, and staff every day. You'll be responsible for more than just ringing up sales. The function of the Store Associate is to serve customers in every aspect, maintain store stock/appearance, complete sales, and help process mail for the entire campus. Duties / Responsibilities
• Serving store customers in all capacities, including point-of-sale operations including handling cash and credit card payments, telephone calls (including voicemails and returning calls), and online sale fulfillment and shipping
• Assist with in-store receiving, locating textbooks, and general merchandise
• Shipping of textbooks and general merchandise
• Fulfilling textbook orders
• General clerical responsibilities such as filing paperwork, typing simple documents/excel spreadsheets, emails to students when needed
• Receiving, Sorting and Tracking parcels and mail in the Slingshot mail platform
• Delivering mail and packages all over campus with and without the use of a vehicle
• Be able to lift 50 pounds & carry heavy loads up and down stairways
• Ability to carry, shelve, bend and stretch in the performance of campus store operations as well as stand for long periods of time
Qualifications Required:
• A high school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of experience in retail or customer service preferred

The function of the sales associate is to serve customers in every aspect, maintain store stock and appearance, and complete sales using a point-of-sale system to sustain cash and inventory levels. The store associate must display a commitment to supporting the overall university and Slingshot mission and demonstrate the university and Slingshot’s values.

General Job Description
The Campus Store Manager plays a vital role on our partners’ campuses. They are Slingshot employees, but we want them to be integrated into the campus community. A manager needs to be able to communicate with and foster relationships with leadership on campus while also serving students and faculty. We want managers to be the on-campus point of contact for anything related to course materials. Managers are advocates on campus and the link between the school and our company. A manager’s job is busy with books, merchandise, meetings, and student workers but there are ebbs and flows that follow the higher ed calendar. We have times where things are very busy and times that are quiet. The stores have regular hours, but we do expect stores to open for special events like homecoming, graduation, some sporting events, and other on campus events.
We are seeking candidates who excel in a fast-paced setting and can handle a heavy workload during peak seasons. During busy periods, managers are expected to lead a team in fulfilling hundreds of orders while consistently meeting daily targets. Our managers need to be focused on customer service but also have grit and a great problem-solving ability. We are looking for candidates who can see how and why the processes work while also paying attention to the small details of the daily operation. Successful managers thrive on relationships and like to have fun amidst chaos. Finally, the ideal candidate is open to learning, can think quickly, delegate, and take ownership of the store.
