Tree of Life and Textbook Butler will become Slingshot. 

The industry is finally catching onto the subscription-based model we created more than 10 years ago. This is great news, however, we uncovered challenges with name recognition and prospects understanding who we are and what we do.  We needed an identity that helped us evolve from a brick-and-mortar organization to an Ed-Tech company exemplifying the value our software and services bring to the higher education industry.

The family selected Slingshot from a multitude of names developed by the leadership team.  Slingshot was a nod to our faith, as well as a signal of our innovation.  We are innovators, rooted in character and dedicated to pursuing better.   

Always remember, this is a name change.  We are the same company with the same values – just a different name.

Our new website will launch on May 4th at www.slingshotedu.com.  The current Textbook Butler and Tree of Life websites will have a pop-up notification letting visitors know of the name change. A redirect to the new Slingshot website will happen sometime during the summer after we have communicated to students.

Our name change signals the beginning of rebranding that will occur over the next few months.  We will be working directly with your departments and team members to update all necessary marketing materials, signage, IT specifications and anything else that references Tree of Life and Textbook Butler.  This will be done in partnership with your team and we appreciate your patience and collaboration as we continue to update our software and materials. 

Students should expect the same great software and service, just under a new name and in a new box.  Our email communications will come from the slingshotedu.com suffix and we are working to rename and rebrand our software (see below).  Rest assured, students will be property redirected as we make these changes, ensuring a seamless experience. 

Yes, our programming is being renamed and redesigned to work within our new branding schemes.
